Stephen Churchill Downes is a New York-based photographer and filmmaker with a wealth of experience shooting everything from high-end advertising to intimate portraiture. His client list includes HSBC UK, Lululemon, the UK Government, Moroccanoil, Donna Karan, and Fila. Beyond commercial work, Stephen has had the privilege of shooting cover stories for the non-profit HIV/AIDS magazine A&U for two decades, capturing the likes of Jon Stewart, Anthony Quinn, and Bebe Neuwirth. He has also created impactful documentaries, including Wild Horses’ Plight, which shed light on the heartbreaking government roundup of wild horses.
A deeply meaningful experience for Stephen was shooting on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation during the 2016 Dakota Access Pipeline protests, where he witnessed firsthand the unwavering spirit of the Native American community. This immersion shaped his unique understanding of living in harmony with Nature.
