Chen Zi Yang is an accomplished commercial director with a keen understanding for product design and lighting. An alumnus of Industrial Design Academy of the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Zi Yang started his career as a photographer with Car and Driver Magazine (China) where he developed his skills in Digital Imaging, and was the official photographer for CTCC Changan Ford Racing Team in the China Touring Car Championship.
Zi Yang’s work caught the spotlight with Top Gear China and has shot a highly praised Mercedes-Benz SLS video which catapulted his career as a commercial director. His cinematography work for New Balance 997.5 had earned multiple nominations and accolades, while his “Experiment of the Smart” campaign for Tencent was nominated at the Cannes Lions Festival, and won a Bronze Film Award at the Asia-Pacific Advertising Festival.
Zi Yang has since collaborated with major brands including 361°, Tencent, Volkswagen, Honda, Shell, New Balance, Sony, Oppo, Panasonic, and many more.
