Bruce Qiu is an innovative director known for his unique cinematic vision and emotionally charged storytelling. A Film & TV Art graduate, Bruce’s career took off with award-winning student films, earning the Jury Prize at the Austria Film Festival and recognition at the Taipei International Film Festival.
Bruce’s directorial debut in independent films, Goodbye, Telephone (2004) and Trap (2024), have graced the New York Independent Film Festival and the Hong Kong International Film Festival respectively. His work Green Pedestrian Crossing (2010) earned him a Silver CLIO Award and a Gold award at Cannes Lions International Festival — the second Cannes Gold Lion won by a Mainland Chinese director. His work “Signemoji” (2016) won British D&AD Golden Award and Asia AdFest Golden Award.
To date, Bruce has produced over 300 commercials, digital videos and micro films for major brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Sony, Tencent, Alibaba, Huawei, Pepsi, Philips, Unilever, Volkswagen China, Pizza Hut, KFC, and many more. Bruce’s work is all about capturing the essence of life’s most poignant details, and continues to push the boundaries of creativity, making him one of the most influential and engaging directors in the industry today.
