Phoenix Liu is a Member of Australian Director’s Guild(ADG). She graduated from University of New South Wales (College of Fine Arts) in 2007. She attended courses in film directing at New York Film Academy (NYFA) and Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS). Phoenix’s directorial style is cinematic, edgy and elegant. She holds a Masters Degree in Digital Media which has enabled her to explore film through all kinds of cutting edge digital tools, including CG, Motion Graphics, Sound etc. She possesses an innate understanding of visual communication that can be seen through all her works and is especially poignant when it comes to commercials and advertisements.

She has 10 year’s work experience in film/media industry in Australia and just returned to China in Oct 2015. Her debut film “30 1⁄2” had won her many international film awards around the world. Her 5-episode web series had exceeded 10 million views one month after published online in 2013. Her documentary work “Hopscotch” was selected in iQiyi New Life Video/Image Exhibition 2015. Her new feature film “My fairy girl” was released in 2020.

Her latest short video about virtual idol “Liu Yexi” reached 2400k likes on Tiktok.

Phoenix is well-experienced working at overseas and knows their industry dynamics.. She is frequent speak of both Chinese and English. She had worked at many overseas locations such as Australia, US, Thailand, Taiwan, Finland, Singapore, South Korea etc.
